brides and her friends are decorated in beautiful wedding sari that are bright and attractive. A number of ladies in their best attire gather in the bride’s home to celebrate haldi and mehandi function. These functions are exclusively for women and they enjoy putting mehandi on bride’s body and face, making her glow more and also decorate her hands and feet with mehandi. Mehandi is known to reduce stress and heat in the body. Marriage makes everyone nervous and worried to some extent, so mehandi works as a cooling agent in this situation for brides and grooms. Along with bride, the family and friends love to put various mehandi designs in their hands which make them look beautiful and bright. All of them are engaged in light dancing and singing activities making the day full of fun and laughter. During mehandi function, all ladies are draped in beautiful dresses, be it bridal sarees, kurtas, lehangas or gowns. Another important function of haldi is also hugely celebrated where ladies are seen majorly in yellow dresses as it depicts the colour of haldi. Even if haldi falls on the dresses, it blends well with it. Haldi is known to purify atmosphere and hence it is applied on bride to make her pure and clean before her grand day of marriage. Each of the member enjoy putting haldi all over the bride and take part in other fun activities like photography, dancing, etc. Other formal pujas are also conducted on both sides of the bride and groom before marriage. Now, when the big day arrives, brides are dressed up in beautiful wedding sarees with lovely jewelries and accessories. They look stunning in their most special dress in lifetime and cherish the moment forever with the family and friends. Brides are gifted from their loved ones and blessed well for the upcoming life that will be new and different to her. The brides side wait eagerly for the baraatis, the groom’s arrival and welcome them with flowers and garlands. A grand arrangement of food is made for all guests and also there are DJ areas where people can dance to their favourite tunes. This helps in keeping the excitement alive and people of all ages, kids, middle age and elderly can enjoy tapping their feet. Wedding is a moment where people from far distances get an opportunity to meet each other in long time and it a platform for reunion. Therefore, whenever a wedding card is received at a home, people are excited to get every detail of it, for example, where will it be conducted, who all are invited, who all will attend, what time is the marriage, with whom it is, where to purchase wedding sarees, etc. All of these excitements unfold in the wedding day when they see their loved ones waiting for them to meet. Bride, groom and their families are too happy to feel their arrival.
